Junior Ambassador Program
The Junior Ambassador Program is designed for students who are passionate about promoting the Weimar community, the Weimar Area Chamber of Commerce, and the Gedenke! festival. Selected ambassadors will serve a 12-month term, acting as friendly, positive representatives and helping connect the community with residents, visitors, and the younger generation.
This program provides valuable leadership, service, and real-world experience while giving students the opportunity to make a meaningful impact in Weimar.
Responsibilities
Junior Ambassadors are expected to:
- Participate in at least 5 parades, including Gedenke!, Weimar Christmas Parade, and Colorado County Fair
- Attend and assist with a minimum of 4 Chamber events (Gedenke!, Rock The Block, ribbon cuttings, and more)
- Serve as positive role models and represent the Chamber and City of Weimar with professionalism and pride
Eligibility
Applicants must:
- Be a full-time Weimar High School student in grades 10–12 (ages 15–18)
- Maintain a minimum 3.0 GPA
- Be in good standing in both school and the community with strong character and leadership qualities
Application Requirements
The following must be submitted by the application deadline:
- Completed application
- Proof of GPA
- Two letters of recommendation (one from a teacher or counselor and one from a non-family community member)
- Short answer form and entry essay
- $50 sponsorship
Interviews will be held following the application deadline.
Scholarship Opportunity
Students who successfully complete their one-year term will be awarded a $2,000 scholarship, paid as two $1,000 scholarships over two semesters, upon proof of enrollment in an accredited college, university, or technical school.
